Is that good or bad?
Haven't seen any recent figures but in the fairly recent past, the number 1 rated programme in Ireland would typically pull in c. 650k - 700k viewers. That would be on RTE One. A good turnout for an RTE 2 show would be c. 200k viewers. So, 73k for the first night of a completely new station isn't too bad.
According to the Irish Mirror, UTV Ireland got 73,000 viewers for its opening night doc 'Out with the Old, In with the U' between 8.30 and 9.30 last night.
