any one in northern ireland with freeview seen that UTV's name has changed to ITV1? is this not significant that now UTV the channel that tries to keep well clear of being ITV1?

I take it you are referring to the channel name on the TV guide and not "on screen"

well up until recently all the itv channels on dtt were "itv 1" "itv 2" but now they have changed to "itv1" "itv2" (the space has gone)

I have seen discussion about this on DS. It is either that ITV have decided to do this or it is a technical problem being caused by the other multiplexes. Do remember that the other multiplexes have the name 'ITV1' on their channel list as that is what it called throughout England.

ITV1 Wales is now ITV1 on the EPG as well!
