Why for the past 2 days has UTV live on the virgin media guides showing up as STV news any ideas as to the region glitch
I was about to ask the same question lol
STV have bought UTV off of itv maybe xD
All TV providers have technical glitches, it has been fixed now. It has happened before. They had ITV News London as the title for a few days before Christmas 2017.

About 25 years ago the Belfast Telegraph went through a period where their TV listings had a glaring error when they used photos to represent programmes on UTV. Each one would be labelled with “Tyne Tees” rather than UTV. I don’t know how such an issue could occur in a one-region newspaper.

Yeah, that's weird. I just checked, and they were definitely independent at the time (bought by the current owner in 2001) and even now they don't own any other local newspapers.
They never put the UTV logo on anything now - you only see itv and stv's logos
As I've explained several times, the requirement for STV's logo is due to their status as an affiliate of the ITV network. UTV is now a fully owned subsidiary of ITV Plc now, no longer an affiliate.

The listings would have been provided by a syndication company rather than compiled by each individual newspaper.
When UTV have a story in Derry they always refer to "their North West correspondent" to avoid saying the name, so probably an extension of that - but they have the same policy as the BBC I think, whatever they say first, the second mention is the alternative, so if they mention Derry in the main studio piece, the report mentions Londonderry and vice versa.
Also, nice to see that they are using ITV Reem for the text when showing the studio and an OB together. I believe the main ITV News still have that text in FS Matthew.
