UTV - From City Quays 2 onwards

Talk about whinging for the sake of whinging.

Moaning about a channel which has 'just' EIGHT idents. EIGHT! There are many channels that have less, and ITV itself screens less than a handful each week at the moment.

If you didn't know how many idents ITV had from 2013-2018 you'd be none the wiser.

It is a bit pointless complaining about the idents as they stand.

The itv set they're based on were weak anyway and the current lot are just cheap and not very cheerful for the most part.

Bland identities for bland stations.

Minority channels 20 pages down the EPG with very few viewers can get away with the same few idents on rotation.

The most watched commercial broadcaster in NI, with the same few looped day in and day out, for several months and it soon becomes stale and mundane, which makes the whole channel feel dull and stuck in a rut.

ITV(1) may show the same few all day, but at least on a Monday the channel gets a mini fresh look and feel for the next 7 days....

They'd be delighted to know you were watching so many programmes back to back on the channel.

I'd say nowadays I probably see no more than 3-4 idents a day on TV.

We dont like or watch every single thing shown on UTV in my household, it just happens to be on in the background for the majority of the day, hence learning the current ident running order loop off by heart through constant repetition.

It's late 90s GMG North all over again.

"Oh look, they're showing the version of the lines ident that's orange tinted this time. How novel".

You won't get any improvement because they don't care.

Again, they have EIGHT unique idents. That's more than UTV had on rotation most of the time outside ITV ownership.

Right - I have contacted UTV and put the statements that have been made here on TV Forum to them, and have asked for a response. If/once I receive one I will put it on here, and maybe this will end the constant moaning about idents on UTV.

Let us see now if UTV respond. It is all very well moaning about them, but if you do not bother to contact them, then it is of no use.

I'm sure they'll tell you to get lost in the politest possible way.

Exactly, which I feel it is pointless people moaning and moaning about this subject.

I very much welcome and thank you for taking it upon yourself to contact UTV and/or ITV, and hope we gain a response from them.

I'm assuming its ITV viewer enquires you have contacted as I dont see any way of contacting UTV directly anymore?

I would absolutely LOVE to work in ITV's Duty Office to deal with queries like this.
