Last week's episode of Back Home (Eamonn Holmes) includes footage from inside Havelock House after UTV moved out, including Studio 1 and an empty Studio 2, towards the end of the programme.

UTV feels like its stuck in an automated rut when it comes to its idents.
7pm Emmerdale is always the autumn leaves ident
7:30 Corrie is the rock gig crowd ident
8pm is mostly skipping rope boy in gym
8:30 Corrie is the wet dog being towel dried ident.
Is it because UTV is so automated these days that Leeds (I believe) who playout the channel, along with the other Northern ITV engligh regions, cant be bothered to schedule other idents to be rotated into the mix?
Edit: ....or is it London who plays out UTV whos responsible for the ident playout stuck in a rut???

This is why I watch ITV London all the time, and only watch the UTV version for the local news. Thank God for Sky, Freesat and Virgin having the ITV London region available.

The only saving grace for me about UTV is their over friendly (pre-recorded) continuity by Gillian and Julian. The 7pm "Great to have you with us on UTV!!' announcement is a favourite of mine.
At least they are trying to sound happy we are watching them....unlike 'mainline' ITV's boring dreary continuity.
Also in UTV's favour is no end credit squeeze.....at all. There must be a technical reason why UTV does not do credit squeeze when the mothership ITV does it all day long.

Is it actually the case that UTV is played out from Leeds rather than London?
If so that would probably explain the lack of ECPs... older/more basic equipment in the DR site. The other regions coming out of there only have regional inserts, so the more sophisticated stuff isn't necessary.
