Havelock House was never going to remain. There is just no financial gain to have that building remaining on the site. Even Television Centre in London had a large chunk of it demolished and rebuilt for offices, shops etc.

We can't even fill the student accommodation that we have at the moment in Belfast as it is!

A shame to see it go, but then it always was a complicated building.

Ken Reid, Political Editor, returned to UTV this week after his battle with cancer. He was even of one of Pammie's guests on UTV Life this week.

View from Stormont returned this evening and the first programme from the new studios. It certainly looks more impressive than UTV Live with improved lighting and an extended desk. Well, it looks like the same desk with a large plank on top. No soft set as yet. If it isn't used it makes you wonder why Pammie wouldn't have had a sofa?!

I seem to remember some people scoffing at the suggestion there would be any sort of tribute to Havelock House.

Now it's revealed there are two hour long opt-outs narrated by Eamonn Holmes scheduled in prime time.

They did announce on UTV Live at the time of leaving Havelock House that there would be 2 tribute programmes later in the year.

Oh this will be good. I like these sorts of nostalgia programs. My best memory of Havelock House is walking out with Julian Simmons to the car park and then he drove off in his wee mini. Amazing.
South Today and bkman1990 gave kudos
