Who has just namechecked Paul Reid who clocks on in 10 minutes.
Wonder if whoever is taking over from Robin at UTV doesn't tell us what's on tonight as if it's the end of the world.
Was just watching back some stuff that I recorded from yesterday, Robin sounded really miserable the whole time he was there! For once I was actually glad to see Julian take over!
I'm not a fan of his style, it's a bit too familiar IMO for the BBC.
Well you can't please everyone. And to think it was even delivered in a dinner jacket and bow tie as per the traditional standards of the Corporation...

Do you not still have the old BBC CHOICE IVC studio?
All in all, I've been very impressed with BBC NI's Christmas continuity - well done to all involved for a friendly, festive and fun local service, UTV - what a disappointment, and guess what... there's no one on duty right now.

The facility's still there, at the back of one of the pres suites (currently the home of BBC TWO). Sadly it won't be there for much longer... I know what you're thinking...!
Two unusual developments on UTV over the past two days:
1. Gillian Porter has been announcing over ECPs after both Jurassic Park films yesterday and today - but Audra Thomas turns out to be on duty from 7pm onwards.
2. Julian has been doing the weather in-vision for the past few days - an interesting development. Is Frank still doing his U105 show this week? And if Gillian and Audra are around, or any of the others from UTV Live who usually do the weather, why not let them do the weather this week?

Well then... prepare yourself, but it looks like Gerry Kelly's New Year's Eve Party is going out live tonight!
The big man himself did what appeared to be a live trail showing the set being put together and Gerry even introduced Coronation Street. There was a fade through black following yet another UTV Watch to Win thing which implies the trail was live...
Explains it all.
Still hope Robin Taylor gets to do some IVC though.
EDIT: If the New Year show is really live, does this mean they will actually celebrate midnight on time? And are we joining Geraint to ring in the New Year or will they roll out a VT of Big Ben at midnight?
