Yea I heard it, he was wishing everyone a merry christmas and said he wishes continuity was in-vision so everyone could see the lovely ... whoever was on next!

I'm not a fan of his style, it's a bit too familiar IMO for the BBC. It was a waste of the licence fee to change announcer after only a few hours also.

It's Julian, in a tux as per.
EDIT: And his link into Coronation Street was cut off before he finished...

Who has just namechecked Paul Reid who clocks on in 10 minutes.
Wonder if whoever is taking over from Robin at UTV doesn't tell us what's on tonight as if it's the end of the world.

Scrooge.
The day is split into slightly shorter than normal shifts to allow everyone a decent amount of time at home. There are fewer than the usual number of people working overall.

No, this has been done for the past four years - in each link between 6pm and 8pm, Julian does these fake announcements tracking Santa Claus's progress from the North Pole and advising children who are expecting presents to be in bed by 8pm.
Well, he can't tell the little b*ggers to get the hell to bed

I'd have to disagree with you there - surely Christmas is the one day of the year when you're allowed to be "familiar"? Besides, I think he struck just the right tone, it was fun and chatty without veering into creepy. And I think you have to at least give him credit for making an effort, given that he was stuck on his own in a soundproof box for hours on end on Christmas Day!

Lol ok, maybe I was a bit miserable. It could be worse, we could have to suffer Julian instead!!
