It's strange because on this image (posted above)

It has the ITV font on the "Sponsored By" part - however the rest of the fonts (shown on images above) look like Arial and Century Gothic.

well they have quite clearly cut out the "sponsored by", and the sponsor logo from the network trail - as the faint yellow does not continue under the sponsored by text

So all the Christmas idents are using a rather old (and very short) jingle from the 90s. What happened to the jingle Peter treated us to last month? Why go through the trouble of creating a new jingle in the current style and then not use it? Confused

Any insiders care to explain?

They probably forgot it existed! Still nice to see it took about 5 minutes to make them thanks to plugins for the flame Smile

is your sig big enough there?

oh i'm sorry, I forgot that you "go through the net to avoid people like [me] Evil or Very Mad "

I have NEVER liked UTV's idents. They looks so cheap and nasty, the normal ones are just horrid.

I can't understand how people prefer them to ITV's rather nice new glossy ones, or STV's which are also rather pleasant

I reported it this morning, as he spectacularly ignored Square Eyes request that it was removed.

Its big and ugly and is giving me a headache.

Was any thought (or skill) put in to the composition of the shots used in these idents? See below: Most of that shot is just huge black nothingness. However, I imagine if they had moved a bit further back and to the left, and raised the camera up on a jib, they could have framed quite a nice shot.

I totally agree. utv's idents look too much like the horrid trails, making them look (as you say) cheap. stv's are the best at the moment.

Im sure I caught a glimpse of ITV's Christmas presentation last night around Coronation Street - I saw a promotion for Girls Aloud Go Ghosthunting and the ITV2 logo had sparkles around it. The next promotion was for um...maybe Extinct or Winter Drama but that also had a sparkle around the ITV1 logo - it looked quite similar to what UTV have used. There seemed to be a constant stream of sparkles with a circle aswell.

Any news on the ITV1 Christmas idents? I bet they'll show the logo hiding behind Christmas trees and perhaps they could do the trick they did last year where the 1 multiplies and rotates to make it look like a snowflake.

I like UTV's idents because they have a local feel to them along with some Irish music and the I'd like to see the Christmas ones as well on UTV Today.
