UTV, Channel, Scottish and Grampian

It seems to vary from region to region...but many are just going for new backdrops. As long as there are no stark contrasts to the colour scheme (such as Calendar's red at the moment) then the studio's themselves will be fine.

I don't think ITV wants to make all the studios the same, taking a more US/Canada approach where programmes that have generic looks usually have their own design of studio but use the corporate titles, music and graphics.

Consdering that it has been planned for a good while..(not neccessarily with our knowledge) - you'd think that if they wanted the studios to all look pretty similar then they'd have arranged it to be that way. Although it doesn't explain the likes of Calendar's and Central East's very close to rebranding again relaunches.

Grampian tend to show only one half of their studio - but it is very small thanks to the move to the 'tin shed'!! Mind you now SMG have robbed them of political programme 'Crossfire' they might use the area that set was in??

Don't think there will be any changes to UTV Live today.

Nowhere near a TV at the moment so I can't confirm my suspicions in a few minutes time.

Given that UTV are promoting ITV News and UTV Live together - and the UTV Live logo is the current one, not the four squares with text above it logo that the other regions (well HTV, Central, and Yorkshire from what I have seen on this site) I doubt UTV Live will be changing.

No change so far Channel. They even still have the awful orange graphics against the new blue back ground.....

Yeah, most likely.

UTV have done a good job editing that trailer actually to promote UTV Live and ITV News - replacing the photomontage shot of Trevor with one of Paul, Kate, Lynda and Mike.

No change on Grampian - WHOOOOPPEEE!!!

Of course there's no reason why UTV and STV/Grampian shouldn't take the new titles (in SMG's case the fourth yellow box could become a lighter blue)... there's nothing mentioning ITV to be seen anywhere.

I wonder if they were politely asked by ITV plc?!

Kevin had a swipe at Channel this afternoon in Puffins Plaice as the big plasma screen wasn't working and he had to borrow a tv from the Channel Report set...........his comment was that ITV have a big re-vamp and a cool new look and Channel Television goes backward....then 3 minutes later all the scrrens go and the music stops leaving Kevin speechless!
