Yep, she was indeed. It looked pre-rec'd but presumably from their continuity set.

Yes the weather is recorded in their continuity set, the exact same spot were Julian presents his watch to win links.

The one thing that bugs me off about UTV's weather is that nearly every news reader or anyone who works at UTV has presented a weather report. It just looks very dated that one employer at UTV has a number of jobs; reading the news, announcing programmes, making promos, and presenting the weather Rolling Eyes

Well, it certainly helps to explain some of UTV's profit margin.

(The rest of it being explained by the fact that UTV pushes itself into every other commercial medium, north and south of the border.)

As you know tonight's Saturday Takeaway was pre-recorded. To get round the fact that they couldn't have anyone on the phone during the competition, they superimposed the names of the winners live on the output, with Ant and Dec pointing at the screen where the names were.

Or weren't, in the case of UTV. Their clean feed didn't have the graphics on them, which looked very silly with Ant and Dec pointing into mid air with a "ding" noise which was the graphics cue...

Oh Fantastic !

I love UTV... for all the wrong reasons.

It's not the first time this sort of thing happens, for example when there is an ECP for a Helpline after a storyline in Corrie, I doubt UTV show one

When the competition winners of "Wish you were Here?... Today" are announced over the end credits, UTV of course don't get that either

There was an ident just before Coronation Street I hadn't seen before.

It was a sheep. In a field.

That's it.

Not in the least bit interesting, unless you're fond of sheep.

Though I suppose it's marginally more interesting than the one which just features some weeds by the side of a road.

...and the UTV Day ident which ran at 7pm...

Yes... I saw the 'Sheep' Ident for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

Very wobbly long-shot, which wobbles out to a wider wobbly even-longer-shot of the sheep. The excitement was too much.

r.e. UTV Day... how difficult would it be for UTV to pre-record a few announcements to go along with their daytime idents? The ITV Day 'zip' ident that leads in to CITV made a mockery of UTV attempts to cover network continuity.

The 9:25am recorded intro has been re-recorded and Julian now does it.

No more "Good Morning, and Welcome to UTV". Now its "Good Morning, and a Very Warm Welcome to UTV Day".
Said rather cheesily...

not that there's any other way for Julian to do an announcement!

Everytime I tune over to UTV there's a item with Julian trying to flog a widescreen TV which you can watch "all your favourite UTV programmes" on in Watch to Win

Delivered direct from the suppliers, Lidl. But you may have to wait until they next have TVs on offer. Probably. Laughing

So that explains why the last time I was at home UTV seemed to show LiDL ads in every commercial break... Smile
