Why are the users banned?

Yeh, lots of hidden parts of the site have broken images etc. I wouldn't mind if it stayed like this, just with a few modern icons, navigation, and banner.... that's it....

asa has a life outside the forum, it would be unreasonable of us to demand a face lift (as, to be fair, its not looking particularly dated yet) and ask him to fix the little forum bugs/bandwidth issues.

no, i think we all appreciate that the amount of effort asa can put in is limited, so i'd think keeping the forum up and running would be the priority over cosmetic, unnecessary changes.

There's nothing wrong with the forum's look. Apart from the odd broken image scattered around the 404 pages it all works fine and still looks heaps better than most phpBB sites which just change the colours of the default skin.

Thanks for the comments. There are certainly a few sections which could do with a look at - Profile, Memberlist, Error 404 to name just three but I think the general look is pretty good - and unique. I think ditching it in the Archive section was a mistake and the more I look at it, the more I prefer the main pages design.

The design changes for the mods' pages just happened because I was improving the code and database design in the background at the same time. So instead of running six queries, it now runs one etc. etc..!!

Whatever happened to Profile Extra, and will it ever return?

I think that the background of the forum name on the homepage (http://asanet.co.uk/tvf/bkgd-fn.jpg) should be changed as it is from a wallpaper that many a people have.

And thanks for the namechange.

Why does it need to be changed? Fine it is part of an XP wallpaper which most don't have on their desktop, but I don't see what's wrong with it as a small background. Confused

He's been here for a while now. After GJ05, it was recently changed to 'best of the box' and now it's 'Greg'. What's wrong with just keeping the same name! Razz

GJ05 - Where did I get that name from anyway! It was rubbish, I was banned under that name anyway. Sorry about all of that once again.

Funnily enough, it's still available via the Profile page! Xtra was the first additional thing I coded on here and it's been one thing on the list I've wanted to integrate with a user's main profile page for a while - I think I even got around to a template design but it was never re-coded. If anyone has any additional questions they'd like to see there, let me know and I'll store them away.

And regarding the XP background, I'm currently with pen and paper, redrawing the homepage and it no longer features Very Happy
