It has come to my attention that nasty virus people are selecting email addresses from the TV Home forum, and distributing virus emails.

It could have only come from virus senders getting email addresses from this forum.

Its a great shame that this has had to happen, luckily I knew it was a virus, because I have been warned about it in the past!!

I know this because my email address thenewsroom@btinternet.com was only set up about 4 weeks ago, and is ONLY used on TV home and MHP chat. I use my other BT Internet email address for signing up for stuff on the net.

Beware, if you get an email like this:

From: Hahaha
Subject: Snowhite and the seven dwarfs - the REAL story

and it has the attachment icon displayed

If you see this in your inbox DONT open it, and just delete it ASAP!

Thanks for the warning.

First deception (pretending to be me) and now its destruction! I wonder if its the same person?

I got that virus a few months ago I think, but I deleted it straight away as it looked a bit dubious.

Agreed by the way, thanks for the warning.

I used to get this about 2 times every day for about a month once. They seem to have stopped sending me it now.

It is more likely that the virus is one which sends itself to everyone in the receiver's address book, NOT from TV Home itself. That could indicate that someone who has saved your email in their address book has unwittingly forwaded the virus.

I recieved the 'HaHaHa!' many weeks ago too, so I think its still doing the rounds.

Best advice is to NEVER open a *.VBS or *.EXE if it comes from an unknown source. If it is from someone you know, maybe you want to drop them a mail confirming the contents before you run it.

Thanks for bringing it to people's attention.

I would full recommend people invest in a virus checker and only open attachments from people you trust, although as Gavin has said, it could replicate through their address book too.

If you are at all concerned, feel free to modify your Profile to remove your email address from public view.

Cheers, Asa

Yeah, thanks for the warning! I only ever get attachments from TV Ark's updates!
