Im making this thread because I began the other one under my username which password I forgot and are unable to update it!

Anyway here are the current Free-to-air TV Logos in NZ
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/logos.gif

Also last week C4s programme Select Live got one of the most hideous ever new looks. Heres what there new music ticker now looks like...... It pratically takes up a quarter of the tv screen....
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/c4new.gif

Now heres my version of how it should look!
http://www.rp-networkservices.com/tvforum/uploads/c4me.gif
It barely takes up half of what the new one does and it can all be seen on screen!

I think C4 have trouble making music tickers.. I have now seen 4 different ones in less than 1 year of being on air and I can pretty much sum up every one of the S*** Smile

TV2 launched its new look sometime last night, apparently, I saw it for the first time this morning. For the first time in about 10 years they have ditched the 'pacific wave' that intersected the 2, and its about time.

The on air graphics look 10 times better than the old ones, from the PRGS to the ads. The old ads looked shockingly amateur after a while and I am really glad they have been ditched.

The dog is still there unfortunately, but it actually can fade in the ligher scenes now, unlike the old one which stuck out like a sore thumb.

The new logo reminds me of the one before the marble and the purply red green piece o crap, the blue one (that had the pacific wave).

Relaunch success: 9.5/10

C4 also relaunched last week but I couldn't really give a rats about that piece of crap.

Favourite graphics (best to worst)

C4 overall had huge problem.

Its dogs are far too big, and they have two for every show (the c4 logo and then the program logo (usually in colour)..

As bbcworld2005 said C4 have a huge problem with tickers, his mock is way better than anything I have seen on the channel's 18 month history.

I noticed yesterday that tv2 have moved their dog slightly to the left. I dont like what they have done and it only looks good when widescreen programmes are on. and also ive noticed the new Capition ticker on tv2. I quite like it.

TV3 has stepped up its assault in the aggressive network war with a newly designed set, featuring "real wood" and plans to launch its own breakfast show.

The "new, clean look" will be revealed when TV3 joins TVNZ and Prime in the 7pm current affairs battle.

TV3 news boss Mark Jennings said the set, which includes "wood tones" and the network's fern, would be used across TV3 news and current affairs shows. Other colours include blue and green, he said.

Despite its "Kiwiana" overtones, the network was not trying to create an indigenous look, he said.

"It's not necessarily `Kiwi'. It's a different look, but its still a traditional set."

Mr Jennings said TV3 also planned to launch its own early morning show, to rival TVNZ's Breakfast, which could be on air later this year.

He said he had been considering a breakfast show for some time.

The moves come as Prime steps up its assault on the Kiwi market. The Australian-owned network is trying to get the rights to top-rating soap Coronation Street. The move follows its schedule revamp this year, which has included the new 7pm show, Paul Holmes.

The show has bombed in the ratings. "I think everybody is a bit stunned about Holmes' lack of success," said Mr Jennings.

"We think the (TV3) show has to be a real mix. Obviously we need the kind of expected hard hitting interviews but we also need to give the audience some relief from the doom and gloom."

TV3 has moved the launch of Campbell Live forward to March 21 from April to coincide with the new set's introduction.

The Campbell Live team was finalised this week, with eight reporters including former C4 music presenter Jackie Brown. Campbell Live producer Carol Hirschfeld will also front items, said Mr Jennings.

BREAKING NEWS
hi , does anyone know if there is a presentation site with audio/captures of the latest NZ tv idents?Smile
MQ
Mr Q
I can't believe that 2 has changed logos! I was in New Zealand last month, and I thought the presentation on both One and 2 was absolutely amazing. The new 2 looks incredibly bland compared to its predecessor - and looks like a 2D rip off of BBC Two's "2". The old pacific wave 2 logo was unique and the package developed by Ink Project (who are responsible for almost all of TVNZ's image - the TVNZ logo, One, One News, the previous 2 presentation). I can't believe that they would have come up with this new 2... Confused

It would be interesting to see some caps of the new on screen presentation for 2 - the website reveals a slight hint, but not much...

I'm thrilled though to hear that 3 News is getting a new set - the current one is incredibly dull (some of the ITV regional news sets spring to mind - Lookaround without the oversized desk, or ITV Wales), and looks like a poor effort compared to the brilliant design over at One News .

There are some very talented designers involved in TV over in New Zealand - which is more than I can say for some of the rubbish that gets churned out over this side of the Tasman.

Thanks for contributing to the thread! i will upload a video of tv2 just before relaunch which gives an idea of the look.. although what you see in the video you wont ever see on tv.

Nice to see you are mentioning the site I gave you in Media Spy!
