I saw something on ITV3 the other night, and there was an animated GR^N^D^ 3D graphic at the end of it! Never seen that before.

There's a few programmes floating around often on the MTV channels made by Granada (USA I guess) which features that effect (no 'G' logo) and looks really good. I think there's a sound that goes with it too.

This was an old 70s or 80s programme though. I wish I could remember what it was Confused Better than that purple monster (the 'G' logo) though Smile

Could it have been Anglia's Tales of the Unexpected? They have an animated Granada Group ident from around 2000?

The best I can find closest to that is this one, but it is static:

There was an animated version of this logo used for a while on Granada DVDs. The lettering is 3D and slowly flies on. The background is plain purple though.

I swear to god, that looks great compared to ITV Productions.. It looks soo classy.

The best Granada ident that should be used on all programmes made in-house should be the one used just before programmes in Granadaland - the animated glassy one - first used in 1995. Now that would make a real decent end-cap

Is this what you're talking about? This was one of my favourite endcaps before the unthinkable happened to ITV.

Indeed - it ends looking just like that.

Granada Kids? Confused

I keep meaning to mention Granada UKTV which I noticed listed in Maltese newspapers. Old LWT classics such as Mind Your Language mix with Crossroads, Emmerdale & Night and Day!

Granada UKTV schedule

I am surprised that ITV don't have a Europe or indeed worldwide channel showing old shows. Granada UKTV is only seen across the Middle East, Cyprus & Malta at present.

That is the one. I know it was a presentational graphic, but it would be absolutely gorgeous as an end-cap in today's TV world. But there again we are talking ITV and, as my signature states, ITV in today's world is nothing but rubbish (except for choosing Sam Allardyce as a pundit - excellent choice he has been good on Sky Sports for the last season and a bit!!!)

Which just goes to prove that people don't know what they had until it's gone

When this type of endcap was in use everybody hated it due to it, not having the classic G logo, not using the proper regional names and replacing the regional endcaps in the first place

I can guarantee that if ITV change their ITV Productions endcap again, everyone will hate it and prefer the one currently in use
