Looking Good, Felling Great is healthy programme with Fern Britton.
I seriously doubt that this is the end of ITV Productions.

Thanks. It was a load of old toosh anyway, telling people to eat bacon butties and how to slap your addiction to caffiene. Problem with this Granada endboard to the previous Granada one is that there is no distinction which region it is made in (ie, Granada Manchester, Granada London, Granada Bristol etc..) There was something similar at the end of University Challenge (but not a full endcap)

I don't think that it is the end of ITV Production, just the use of a really odd ident.

Makes you wonder how a oddity like this can be used, when ITV are so strict on repackaging material on ITV1 to have the ITV Productions credit.

So much (wasted) effort goes into re-editing old programmes to remove regional production company names, I wonder how a "non-standard" logo manages to make it to the completed programme?

Personally, it makes me realise how naff the current ITV Productions endcap is, especially as it makes no mention of the regional production centre responsible.

You can say that again. I've already noticed that old programmes with old yet glorious endcaps have been sabotaged by ITVplc and other companies. E.g. I was watching the end credits of Poirot on ITV3 last year and was expecting an LWT endcap when suddenly I saw the purple GR^N^D^ end cap which I found disturbing and there are some gameshows on Challenge e.g. Catchphrase, Bullseye, Family Fortunes, e.t.c that have the orange Carlton* end board.

It was at the end of the healthy programme with Fearne Britton aswell. I'll keep a further look out, perhaps this is the end of ITV Productions?

Already? That's only been a few months of ITV Productions.

Back to Granada it is then (possibly anyway).

I hope so. Granada is so much better than ITV Productions

Most of the time now Challenge usually show what's given to them, but this varies, most of the time they leave them as there are, which is often the case of mid-1980's episodes of Bullseye. Some like the later Bullseye's have 'Distributed by Carlton International' at the end of them, though some of these have been replaced by 'Granada International' (alá Granada Ventures DVD's), or some such as Family Fortunes I have seen with a 'CTE' endcap at the end of them, this AIUI was something to do with Carlton in the mid 1990's, as some of their Video releases had this attached to them.

ITV3 is also an odd one, some again are left clean, some have 'Granada....', though ATV's Jesus Of Nazareth (usually shown at Easter) has a Granada International endcap instead of Carlton again. Though as I mentioned in another Thread, Goodnight Sweetheart has a FremantleMedia endcap, though this was produced by Alomo and SelecTV rather than by the BBC.

Neither please.

Granada used to stand for quality british televison - even the gameshows and comedies (on the whole) were far better than most of the output from the other old ITV licence holders.

ITV productions stands for cheap teleivision where the viewer comes second.

I would rather see ITV productions either closed or sold off and let ITV become a publishing network rather than a producing network (just like Channel's 4 and 5).

NO!!! Even better I would rather see ITVplc fail and have to close down so that OFCOM would have to re-issue the licences and then it would become more like the old days where different companies owned the different licences. The soaps (i.e. Emmerdale and Coronation Street)would survive due to their popularity, but it would be a whole new start for a whole new network - PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy . Although it could go 2 ways - very cheap television, i.e. even worse than the present ITV Network or become a much high class station like it was during the 80's and early 90's - ITV's nirvana.

I saw something on ITV3 the other night, and there was an animated GR^N^D^ 3D graphic at the end of it! Never seen that before.

The best Granada ident that should be used on all programmes made in-house should be the one used just before programmes in Granadaland - the animated glassy one - first used in 1995. Now that would make a real decent end-cap

There's a few programmes floating around often on the MTV channels made by Granada (USA I guess) which features that effect (no 'G' logo) and looks really good. I think there's a sound that goes with it too.

This was an old 70s or 80s programme though. I wish I could remember what it was Confused Better than that purple monster (the 'G' logo) though Smile

The best I can find closest to that is this one, but it is static:
