Unusual Granada Endcap in use

(June 2006)

Instead of the ITV Productions animation, Looking Good, Feeling Great, (ITV1, 13.30 weekdays) has a Granada endcap animation.

This is not the same as the version used prior to the name change to ITV Productions. The G animates in the centre of the screen, with the Granada wording underneath.

It is odd, as the programme was made very recently, and I have never seen this one used before.

Sorry, but I don't have any grabs. Any thoughts?

I have saw this too. But, the programme was made last year, was it not?

But if it was made last year, wouldn't it have been the bog standard purple "G" with wording next to it?
EDIT : The nearest I can see it this one from The TV Room that matches your description. Not sure if its a mock

I'm sure one with a centred purple G sounds like the one I've seen used on Granada Ventures DVD/Video releases (or certainly the odd one or two we've had free with the Daily Mail). :S

Programmes made for Amercia have used the endcap descriped above with the purple G centred, so I wonder if this was originally commissioned for overseas (or a digital channel perhaps?).

The TV Room mentioned that what you've got there was a failed redesign of the Granada logo in the late 90s. I'm just glad they never changed it because I've always enjoyed watching the credits of Coronation Street and other programmes to see the G-arrow logo right up to 2004 when ITVplc was formed and it was replaced with a cheap looking 270 degree circle with the name on it.

The purple 'G' Centred logo is sometimes seen on ITV3. Its the same as the one on Granada DVDS, it's just missing the "Ventures" text.

That is it, I knew that I had seen it before, it is used ( in full, with music) on Granada Ventures DVD products. Seems very odd, s I believe that the programme was originally made to form a segment within "This Morning".

It was at the end of the healthy programme with Fearne Britton aswell. I'll keep a further look out, perhaps this is the end of ITV Productions?

Already? That's only been a few months of ITV Productions.

Back to Granada it is then (possibly anyway).

Looking Good, Felling Great is healthy programme with Fern Britton.
I seriously doubt that this is the end of ITV Productions.
