I came across these four idents on a video cd the other day. The rest of the CD had some GMTV footage I needed for my work. Thought i'd upload them, but I have no other information about them. Has anyone seen them before?
Lets put it this way if they had been used instead of the awful generic celebrities, slightly better blocks or the even worse than awful present ones - I could actuall see it still being used today. Although I could imagine that it would have been used with the ITV1 logo rather than regional names
Like those idents - interesting to see that Central and Westcountry appeared on the idents as well as the Carlton logo and star - and that the Westcountry text looked quite similar to their 1993-1999, just the use of a different font in the Gill Sans family.
Blatently looks like a mock to me - especially with
the
TV Logos font but the background is nice. I've just watched some of those block Sky logos from the mid-90s where the Sky and numeral swish past the screen in 3D. ITV1 should have something like that. Scrap the arty shots and instead have a mix between the 1989 idents (maybe not with ballet dancers and Big Ben but images from programmes they should be proud to promote) and those Sky idents. Add some grand, hard hitting, cresendo music and voila, an ident which screams out at the channel you're watching!
