If they really want to get creative about content I'd love them to start taking on some of the more long form videogamers/youtubers and online content creators and scheduling it in early prime time. Many of these channels get hundreds of thousands and often millions of views, making an event viewing deal with these would be away of remaining relevant, not getting all doe-eyed about rubbish traditional dramas.

That's never going to happen.

You highlight your wares by making good content and traditional promotion online and in ad slots.

But it *is* a traditional promo showing good content and running in ad/promo breaks, and highlighted online in social media.

I partially agree that it's not mind-blowing but it has been created in the middle of a pandemic.

Fair play to the PSBs for getting together, I say. It'll be hard for them to campaign much harder individually given the cuts they will all be making soon.

Why not? As formulas go many of them aren't a million miles away from continuing drama, out paying them over their YouTube revenue would often be cheaper than creating a new programme, and the content is in many case family friendly entertainment. It's perfect television, taps into a younger audience and brings costs down.

You cut the half of my post that pointed in the direction of New content that's cheaper the channels could get hold of and would essentially promote itself.

What works on YouTube isn't the same as what works on television.

Imagine long-form TikTok on linear TV…

That would be the worst TV channel ever conceived without a shadow of a doubt.

Did UTV have its logo featured or was it just the default ITV brand?????

No, it was an ITV logo in NI.

Apart from a quick shot of Derry Girls, was there anything else in the entire package that was related to NI in any way?

Why would it have a UTV logo? There's not a channel called UTV any more. Unlike Wales and Scotland there was no need to make a special version as there's no other broadcaster in NI

What a load of self-indulgent rubbish from these broadcasters.

I wouldn't go as far that, but it will have been a huge whooosh for millions. I suspect many thought it was a subtle promo/ad for Britbox (In a way it sort of was)

A wonder also how many 20 year old 32inch CRT widescreen TVs died in the making of the promo? 😎
