This looks interesting:

Scroll down to "Pages from Ceefax" and click on it - then read the further information in the pop up box.

Was just Sky+ ing 'The Magic Box' for next Tuesday and a thought came to me, what will BBC1 NI do during the ad breaks in the simulcast? Or will the programme have no breaks? Also, UTV have scheduled it in a 1 hour slot and BBC1 NI have it scheduled in a 55 minute slot.

Worth looking through to the Friday and Saturday 26/27th and instead of Ceefax they've not listed anything.

Weren't the national versions of BBC Choice pulled to launch BBC2 regions on digital platforms?

Was the transmitter that's fed from satellite turned off at the same time as the others or did it continue for a while?

Not sure on that, but BBC Choice on DTT in NI remained optable for some time, even after BBC TWO NI started. The only difference, however, was that it didn't have the DOG that DSat and DTT in England had.

The satellite space that carried BBC Choice Scotland/Wales/NI became BBC2 Scotland/Wales/NI. If it was still optable it would only have been terrestrially

I'd heard there were plans to run well known ads from over the years...

Last in series. Of course. And I'm sure I read somewhere the replacement will be Internet Protocol Television. What is it?

I hope this might involve card adverts for McBride's Fashions, The Spinning Wheel etc. - preferably done live with supermarket music playing in the background Wink

Come to think of it, is there any word yet on how "The Magic Box" is going to be introduced? It would be a lovely touch, and a treat for us pres fans, if both channels linked up, ideally with both a BBC NI and UTV announcer, past* or present* for this.

* - Miss Adrienne and Edgar Martin (unsure who else of BBC NI past continuity is still with us)
** - David Olver and Queen Gilly, but it'll probably end up being Mr Gucci Scarf...

What Freq/Transponder ?

Seen nothing on the tech satellite groups
TV
TV Times
10.847 V, 23.000, 8/9.

"6943"

A SKY receiver can't tune into these frequencies I gather.

No, I think they can still only be manually tuned to Symbol Rates of 22 or 27.5 Meg

I'll take a look later on my Freesat box.

Any news yet whether UTV HD will appear on the Freeview HD mux from next Wednesday ?
