Presumably if current scheduling patterns continue the final Pages from Ceefax on BBC Two will be in the early hours of Monday 22nd October, and the first airing of whatever replaces it would be the early hours of Saturday 27th.

Pages from Ceefax is generated 'offline', there's no reason it couldn't continue past DSO, even if it's just for a bit.
What could they replace it with anyway? Maybe they should put the same content onto a PowerPoint presentation, similar to ITV Nightscreen.

"Page from BBC Red Button", anyone?! (After all, red button is basically the digital TV equivalent of Ceefax)

Clearly, a bit like the PowerPoint suggestion, a specific "on-view" version would have to be especially generated, as the box usually housing a shrunk-down version of the channel's live output would be redundant (this could perhaps be replaced by article-specific stills? Or just have a different layout, without such a box?), as would any text etc stating that pressing numbers and/or the blue/green/yellow buttons will do anything (some/all of this could be replaced by text stating "press the red button for interactivity with this service" or similar).

Or maybe it could become an epic version of the News 24 "watch us online vortex of doooooom"

Just a thought.

Ceefax certainly looks like it is surviving the chop for the moment if Digiguide's advanced listings are to be believed....

Digiguide is wrong, then.

What time is analogue BBC Two due to end in NI tonight? If there is any sort of tribute, I'd hope they'd show it on the digital version too.

This looks likely to be the last thing to be seen tonight on BBC Two NI analogue (pic from Twitter)

And our very own Marksi has posted a pic on his Twitter of the links they need to pull at around 00:20 tonight

Excellent news. Should be a nice complement to 2003's "Window on the World" series; I'm sure I am safe to reveal that one contributor to that series has not taken part in this upcoming programme Wink

The question is, how bad will it end up looking?

They could always have a promo loop similar to BBC HD.

That exists as a service to the trade as I understand it (as with the 'Colour Trade Test Transmissions' of yore).

A nice effort there, had sort of hoped for Paint to be involved somehow, but that was nice enough.
