Excellent programme, agreed it would have been nice to have seen other programmes as DSO was carried out, however NI had a major distinct advantage that of a single ITV contractor over the period.
The difficulties of doing such a job in Plymouith would have required extraordinary co-operation, which I doubt could be obtained, noting the chaos around the franchise changes. The cost too would be great, as theatre space would have been necessary to host.
Well done BBC NI and UTV.

Did they also give out the wrong URL? I think the graphics said www.digital.co.uk (wrong) but the VO said www.digitaluk.co.uk
Whilst on UTV, a long announcement about switchover - and then Tina Campbell out-of-vision over an ident into the football. No old stuff, no thanks for watching. Typical Havoc House.

Although when Meridian closed their Northam studios in 2004, there was a celebratory programme combining the Southern, TVS, and Meridian archives.

And she misread the costs of the phone numbers, she read it out as 2p during daytime, and 5p at evenings. However the small print said, 2p during daytime and 0.5p during evenings.

The difference is the bulk of the regional archive remained with Meridian, even then most archive footage was sourced from various compilation programmes anyway.

Very nice VT at the end, showing each of the globes, new idents, introducing the new HD service starting tomorrow and a visual nod to CEEFAX.
VERY well done in my view. Perfect farewell as well, from the "Analogue BBC Television Service"
RIP CEEFAX

Agreed, well done to all involved.
C4 went off air at 22:40hrs, leaving C5 analogue as the last UK analogue service to close. Not terribly fitting IMHO
