Very anonymous, although I guess that's the idea. The old one was strong and memorable but with the advent of individualism such traits are no longer required and I doubt this logo will ever be seen on screen (it's difficult enough finding it on their website!).

Surprised it's not in a circle, mind.
I agree, the old one was rather nice, but as the whole 'UKTV' identity has been banished to the nether regions for broadcasting purposes, then the change was quite pointless.
The logo is OK; it's hardly going to catch anyone's eye, but then again, that's probably not it's
raison d'être

Has anyone else noticed the +1 channels keep flipping in and out of 50i video? Ive noticed this on Watch/GOLD/Home+1 for a month now, especially at shot changes, where it goes into old-fashioned terrible 1990s filmic effect, before flipping back. Unless someone else has mentioned it before and I've missed it lol

Erm, "nether regions"?
You do know what that means, don't you?
No, I have absolutely no idea what it means, that's why I randomly selected the phrase to use as an analogy in my comment.

We made some changes to the processes in our transmission chain last week and as a result we noticed that on some channels it looked like a "filmic" effect was being applied. We were not applying this effect however it gave the impression we were due to a setting relating to the compression technique. As soon as we noticed this, the setting was changed and there have not been any further picture problems since last week.
If you're still experiencing them, please let us know.
This is the last straw (the straw that broke the camels back, just in case you are wondering or those thinking of writing a sarcastic reply to this post). UKTV should never have changed their logo especially since almost noone will ever see it. They just done it to annoy people and to show that they have 'revitalised'.
Bring back the old UKTV and rename all the channels 'UK [enter old name here]'. At the very least they could stop refering to G.O.L.D. as separate letters. The whole point of an acronym, or 'backronym' in this case, is that you can shorten a phrase into a normal word and
pronounce
it as a normal word.
The only consolation out of all this is that they have used an adaption of the old 'Home' fonts to make their 'new' logo.
