I must say, this whole "made for the BBC and chosen by #channel name#" business is REALLY getting on my nerves now. Why on Earth do they insist their announcers say it? Some sort of contractual obligation? Surely viewers either know the programme was a BBC one in the first place or simply don't care. I notice there are even now backannos and on screen captions during end credits also using this tedious line...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this annoying. When I was watching Last of the Summer Wine tonight they started promoting the next programme during the final lines before the end credits had even started rolling Mad .

Funny you don't see 'Made by Thames chosen by Watch' or 'Made by Five, chosen by Dave' isn't it? I know the entire UKTV lot is just essientially BBC programmes being commercially explioted, it's just silly they do this, people tune in because they know they're seeing Top Gear or Blackadder. Even stupider when the BBC logo appears at both ends of the programme.

Probably slightly better than 'Made by Dave, ruining a BBC programme'.

Anything would think I was bitter about the lukewarm excuse for Red Dwarf they served up.

That will almost certainly be a data entry fault rather than editorial policy though

What's particularly stupid is when The Royle Family is credited as being 'made by the BBC, chosen for G.O.L.D'... when in fact it was made by Granada, chosen by the BBC and then repeated on G.O.F.O.

Nice, stylish and witty, I like.
I wonder if they'll venture out into garden scenes once those programmes move over in a few week?

I thought it was "rejected by ITV, made by Granada, chosen..." etc Wink

So UKTV Food will become 'Good Food' on 22nd June.

To correct you again they don't actually say "made by the BBC" they say "made for the BBC" - even when the BBC made it for themselves.

I'm quite glad to see they've not gone for a wacky name this time. Probably a good move to link in with the Good Food brand. Although of course this isn't the first time they've done this - the channel used to broadcast 'Good Food Live' as its flagship programme (which became 'Great Food Live' once the deal ended).

Interesting to see the 'we have fun with food' strap appears to be in the same font as the 'Home' logo.
