I'm not convinced about the Really logo, but I rather like the Home one. It looks like a retro logo for an old home appliance manufacturer.

Although not sure if conveying an image of 1950s drudgery was quite what they were aiming at though. Wink

Hmm, it's either paying homage to or ripping off GE. I'm not sure which.

Is it wrong to remind me of this?

I noticed that UKTV have re-labelled 'Yesterday' on the Sky EPG as 'YeSTERDAY'.

Although they may have some justifiable design reason for using a lowercase 'e' in the channel logo, I'm sure it's not necessary to use it on the EPG.

If they were to extend this policy, then surely we should also have 'eden' and 'BLIGHTY' since that's how the DOGs appear. Until such time, it just looks as though someone working in Sky's EPG department needs a keyboard skills refresher course.

Mmm - looks a bit odd. It doesn't really work unless the lowercase 'e' is the same height as the capital letters as in the logo.

I just read that on the EPG as "Ye Sterday"... like some kind of nonsensical olde Englishe.

I think that is what it's supposed to mean, as in 'ye olde england' or whatever. Quite ridiculous. Who's running UKTV, exactly? A bunch of 25 year old post-grads?? Even the name 'Dave Ja Vu' doesn't make sense because we've already seen everything that's shown on Dave on the BBC anyway, so surely Dave Ja Vu (Again) would be more logical. It's a stupid name in any case.

Especially when the channel's focus is on modern history.

The translation of 'Déjà vu' is simply 'already seen' and doesn't specify a number of occurences, therefore using your logic 'Already Seen (again)' would be an unnecessary repetition of the play on words.

I actually think 'Dave ja vu' is quite clever and far better than just 'Dave+1'.

Thinking about it, watching a programme on Dave Ja Vu would only be akin to experiencing actual deja vu (because that is how it's spelled) if you'd actually seen the programme on Dave the hour before. And who's going to do that? Nothing on there is worth watching twice (or three times if you count the fact that it was on the BBC the first time around of course) and the entire schedule seems to be shown on a fortnightly loop anyway.

And if I hear, "and check us out, as they say!" one more time Rolling Eyes

It really is awful.
