No that's Alibi +1. This is stupid how the main channels and their +1 channels are spaced so far apart. Why is that?

When Sky Digital launched each existing channel was given it's channel number according to it's popularity (according to audience figures on analogue satellite/cable) and these were spaced out in 3's - so Sky One went on 106, UK Gold on 109, Living on 112 etc. each new channel went in the next slot after the originals, in numerical order to be fair

The 2 positions after each channel were reserved for them - so UK Gold had 110 and 111 and then launched UK Gold+1 and UK Gold 2 (now Dave) etc.

With a few exceptions (and some shuffling up to close gaps) this hasn't changed much over the last 10 years, but what it does mean is that once UKTV used up their 2 EPG numbers they had to launch their next channel in the next available slot further up the line-up. Hence what is now Dave+1 ended up a long way from Dave.

The Virgin Media channel line up is a lot more logical, AIUI they don't need to be as strict over the ordering. Also as they own the channels that appear from 118 to 131 it's a lot easier to re-arrange them as they see fit - there aren't any third parties refusing to move!
I see, but it does overcomplicate things on Sky though. Sometimes new channels are added or shuffled and it happens overnight with no warning. They should put messages on their TV guide to tell people.

It's getting to the stage where it would be helpful to have a specific part of the Sky EPG dedicated to timeshift channels.

Or allow you to press a button like the yellow one to switch to a time shifted channel, if there is one available...

You'd still need to keep them on the EPG though to allow Sky+ users to record from the timeshift channels. Sometimes they're quite handy to avoid a three-way recording clash.

I've been having a look around the new look UKTV websites and have to say they look great. Smile

The only thing I would say is they should be centralised though inside of left-aligned - I'm not a big fan of left-aligned sites.

I love the new rotating wheel thing at the top bit of the homepage (and also at the bottom of other pages in the footer).

Interesting there's now something called "UKTV Homes" - it links to a UKTV Style site for homes.

UKTV Homes was there on the previous incarnation of the site. It's a dedicated strand on UKTV Style, but that doesn't explain why it's been given the same status as another channel for so long.

I didn't realise.

Am I right in thinking that Richard and Judy's New Position is not live?

I use the subtitles and they come up very quick and not like when the show is live.

When Rufus Hound did his jump, it was broad daylight outside at around 9pm, do they record it earlier in the day?

Also I have read that Judy has said they only work 3 days a week, does this mean Thursday and Friday shows are recorded on a Tuesday/Wednesday like Paul O'Grady does?

The whole show seems poor compaired to their Channel4 show.

Apparently from what I've read elsewhere, they only record the show 2 nights a week.

If someone could upload the titles to YouTube, I'd be grateful.

You're certainly entitled to that view, but I don't share it. Given that the guests were Walliams (an old favourite on their sofa), and "regular" Rufus it felt very much like the same show to me. In fact, despite the set change it has a strikingly similar atmosphere as the C4 show.

I think they're top - I really do. I'll endeavour to catch them at 8 or 9 each night.

I think it's a mistake to put it on at 8pm.

It would fare much better in the old timeslot.

There's too much competition at 8pm with the other channels.

Or at least repeat the previous day's 8pm show at 6pm the next day or something.
