Why do I get the feeling it's gonna be similar to UKTV's Space Hopper idents. Confused

It seems the channel logos have been modified since they were originally unveiled.

Before, they looked like this...

Now, Watch looks like this...

...from MediaGuardian appears to show a new version of the Gold logo in the background with the name in capitals inside a pink circle, which from what I can make out looks like something designed by a mad-man in the Mocks Forum.

The Alibi logo has also gone red (although I suppose this may just be a variation, with the black one also in use).

I took a look at the Watch schedule (the first two weeks are now available to look at on UKTV's website), and all I'm gonna say it doesn't look very watchable, the only new programme is Richard and Judy's New Position and the rest of it is a mix of all the recent programmes from UKTV Gold, and a bit of UKTV Style, basically it's just going to be another BBC repeat channel to add to the tally.

Although from what was reported on MediaGuardian yesterday Dave are actually producing some original programmes too, one featuring John Cleese.

Ah, hadn't found the other sites.

So this is the Gold... sorry, G.O.L.D. logo in all its glory...

So according to the stings on currently showing on UKTV Gold+1, Gold and Gold+1 will split into different channels?

I notice from those sites that Watch is taking the higher Sky EPG slot (109) with Gold shuffling down to 110.

The Alibi promo looks quite good.

Is that a ident near the begining, if it is, it's all-right, bit cliched though.

Gold is staying as Gold, Gold+1 is becoming Watch, although as stated it gets the higher position of the two on both Sky and Virgin EPG's.

Shame they're getting rid of Gold+1, thats one of the only few +1's that come in handy.

I agree, it's quite a useful +1, although I can understand why they want to use such a high EPG position for another channel. I had thought that they would move it to the slot currently occupied by UKTV Drama +1. That's the only other +1 slot they have in the entertainment section on Sky.

It seems odd to carry +1s of their minor channels such as Food and Style, yet not for what are supposedly their two flagship channels (Gold and Watch).
