I would have thought that UKTV Doc would have been on on the same hours as UK Horizons (9am - 3am).

So with UK People starting at 7pm could during the day it be UKTV BrightIdeas+1 as that will have finished by 7pm? It looks like theres room for it.

UKTV is launching two new channels: UKTV Documentary and UKTV People. We'll be saying goodbye to UK Horizons, which will be replaced by the two new channels on Monday 8th March 2004.

UKTV Documentary will be home to the best of British documentary and factual programming. Aimed at exploring the issues, themes and interests that concern us as a nation today, it will show a variety of programmes such as What the Romans Did for Us, Fred Dibnah, Horizon, and Panorama. There will also be a host of award-winning documentary series and singles like The Human Body, The Blue Planet, One Life and Sahara. March will start with an Attenborough Season that includes exclusive material shot with David Attenborough.

By contrast, UKTV People will focus on cars, crime, comedy-based factual and extreme people stories. Programmes will include Top Gear, Ray Mears, SAS Are You Tough Enough, Forensic Files, Have I Got News For You, Louis Theroux, Billy Connolly and popular documentaries like Jordan: Model Mum. The March launch will begin with a Chris Ryan SAS night in which the former SAS soldier presents exclusive programmes that explain how to apply SAS tactics to everyday situations. Watch out for Jeremy Clarkson Day and Car of the Year later this year.

Going by the listings of the new channels it looks like we might get UKTV Nature by the end of the year as all the nature / wildlife programmes have been stripped out. - just speculation though.

I presume from the video that the other UKTV channels will be renamed with the UKtv prefix from March the 8th as well? Either then, or pretty soon afterwards.

I was just checking advanced listings for Animal Hospital (which is currently shown on UK Horizons) and I have noticed that after UK Horizons closes down it will be shown on... UK Style! Shocked What's that got to do with Style? (unless you style your pets fur / dress them up). Confused
Looks like UK Style is slowly transforming into UK Nature with other shows like Vets In Practice appearing in it's EPG from March as well.

What about programmes such as Robot Wars. this is currently on Horizon but doesn't seem to fit in to either channels?

Robot Wars will be shown on UKTV People but only on weekends.

The show was played to death on BBC Choice. I'm surprised theres still demand for it.
