UKTV People to extend hours from July 1st?

I know this isnt really tv presentation related, but just been looking at tv listings on digital spy and noticed that from July 1st UKTV People has listings for 9.00am - 3.00am rather than just 7.00pm - 3.00am. So, it looks like (on sky digital) UKTV People will no longer be timesharing with UKTV Food +1. Which means that UKTV Food +1 could extend its hours to finish at 10.00pm (an hour after UKTV Food closes down) and this could mean the launch of UKTV Drama +1 to timeshare with UKTV Food +1 to broadcast 10.00pm - 6.00am.

Any thoughts?

I don't know how likely a UKTV Drama +1 is, seeing as UKTV Drama has already been razored from its 7pm start time to 9pm. I'd like to see a UKTV G2+1, although where it'd go is anybody's guess seeing as Living TV's on 112 isn't it?

I'd like to see UKTV G2 starting a bit earlier - it still starts an hour later than the old UK Gold 2 started.

I suppose the thought there is that the target audience is generally not watching earlier than that time.

The problem is that the majority of programmes on UKTV G2 aren't suitable for a daytime audience, still I think it should start an hour or two earlier, but not all day as it wouldn't work.

I don't know whether they're short of material for UKTV Drama, or if it's a lack of transponder time.

If it's the latter, I'd like to see the re-organisation allow it to start at around 17:00 and have a much longer daily run.

Some VERY good stuff can be seen on there and 21:00 is TOO late a start time.

Totally agree there and I believe it is in fact the latter causing the later start time - otherwise the UKTV off-air board would probably be shown before UKTV Drama starts up. I think it should return to its 1900 startup time; 2100 is as you say far too late, by then people are probably already settled into another channel.

I am presuming UKTV Drama's target audience is similar to that of BBC Four. Does anyone know what the typical viewing schedule for this audience group is?

Absolutely, I suppose UK Play / Play UK is proof of that. I'm sure starting at 6 or 7 pm would be feasible though. I can't believe that the target audience of 20-30somethings don't watch telly before 8pm.

According to http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.html - People doesn't timeshare with Food+1 (dated March) . However it does list 2 Dramas, one of which is a non-sharer the other which shares with Food+1.... so who knows what will happen

I'm assuming that to allow Food and People to extend, Drama has moved to the space People used to use... theoretically Drama could now be extended to start at 7

Is it just me or does G2 now start at 8 rather than 7? Perhaps G2 has therefore moved to that mux.
