UKTV Gold on Freeview?!

For the first time, UKTV Gold is working on my Freeview box!

It's always been on TopUp TV as far as I know, so encrypted or whatever like TCM and the other channels...but its broadcasting as normal!

So is it my Freeview box being incredibly sly and getting in there without paying (unlikely) or has UKTV Gold become a full Freeview channel now...? Perhaps its downtime on the other TopUp TV channels so its broadcasting for a few hours?

In the meantime, I'm going to take advantage of this whilst I can, and sit back to enjoy a classic episode of The Office!

(Or alternatively has it been on Freeview for ages and I never realised hehe)

I've just got the usual "Please insert your smartcard" message. What make is your Freeview box?

Seems like it was a mistake, was working on my integrated TV but isn't now.

OOh, it's just like being on Digital Spy.

Sometimes when timeshared channels change over, the encryption doesn't always change over at exactly the same time.

Mine was the same last night. Was please to be watching Men Bahaving Badly on UKTV Gold last night on freeview to see it. Even though I don't pay for Topup TV.

Gold only have Pay TV rights for their broadcasts, don't they? So couldn't go FTA even if they wanted to.
