Ladies and Gentlemen, Vicky Pollard with Points Of View! If you're talking about why they won't show certain series' I think it's because if the rights they have. They mightn't be able to have them for all series'.

Early episodes of Casualty are being shown on UK Drama.

why does UKTV Drama remind me of how UKGold was once, when it very first started. Now that is how UKTV Gold should be like today!!!! and not tranfer its GOLD mantel to another channel within the UKTV portfolio.

Another gripe of mine why call the portfolio of channels UKTV - what was wrong with UK.....???????

UKTV Gold is actually my favourite channel at the moment. They may have the same set of tapes, but at least they try and do interesting things with them. They also have done "Wogan Now and Then" as well as that new Les Dennis show which i also quite like. I think UKTV Gold is the best it's ever been.

If UKTV want to do "New" programmes then it shouldn't be on UKGold - as the name of the channel suggests it should only cater for classic/oldish programmes from various producers archives. NOthing less than 5 years old should be shown on this channel.

UKTV should replaces UKTVGOLD+1 with a UKTVNow channel for programmes between 1 and 5 years old and with its own original programming.

I think eventually we will see either uktv Gold rebrand, to something like uktv G1, or a new channel emerge such as uktv today, which will show some of uktv's own programmeing. This may be a good freeview channel, as it would showcase some of uktv's programmeing.

However saying this Wogan:Now and Then was suited to uktv Gold as it revisited the old programme, and added a new twist.

They've always made their own programmes, even in the pre-UKTV days

The name of the channel means nothing of the sort. 'Gold' doesn't mean 'old'

There's a new series about Sitcoms devised and presented by Danny Baker coming soon:

What classes as "Gold" then????

IMHO anything that has been made in the last 5 years does not have the right to be classed as Gold - as it has not yet stood the test of time, unlike most other shows shown on UK/UKTV Gold. Would new Dr Who have been shown within 6 months on the old UKGold??? Would any recent drama hits be classed as GOLD television with not standing the test of time?????

'Gold' as in premium, the best, something of value. There's nothing anywhere that defines that something described as 'gold' or 'golden' is necessarily not new.

Not on the original UK Gold, no.... but the original UK Gold no longer exsists. The UKTV Gold of today is a diffrent format in a diffrent marketplace

I notice that UKTV Gold is showing Blessed next week. Surely it's not even been a year since it was on BBC1. It wasn't exactly a huge hit so why show it again?

The schedule really is dire now!.
