It's weird! I'm not used to the DOG being there!!
I'm so used to seeing it on a widescreen TV on "Smart" it looks wrong now it's in the correct aspect ratio!
Not sure the end of the promos look right (on the UKTV channels at least) look right, being right aligned against the safe areas rather than the actual edge of the screen!

It's about time UKTV made the same bold move as C4 did with their channels a couple of years ago and moved the DOG so that it was correctly aligned for widescreen TVs.
I imagine that most of the viewers are now either watching on 16:9 TVs or using letterbox on a 4:3 TV. I don't think C4 lost any identity recognition just because a very small number of viewers are unable to see the DOG in full.

That's a brave assumption given that (almost?) every set top box sold in the UK is sold configured for 4:3 centre-cut...

...and you assume the STB-buying public are incapable of changing the default setting.
I suppose if 'trained' staff in TV shops can't get the aspect ratio correct, how do expect the GBP to do it!!
