11th August - they’re back (July 2018)

Great, but not surprising news. I fear the long-term damage is already done though as this is the second time this has happened on Virgin.

It was always coming back, but once the two parties stopped sniping on social media, a deal was going to be more likely.

Back on Virgin Media Ireland - but we only got the channels which had been removed - Gold, W, Dave, alabi. All SD. Odd we didn’t get all channels.

Not on topic but does anyone know if Virgin would come in separate the power of the wifi and box so that when the Wifi needs a reboot we dont have to reboot the TIVO. My parents refuse to touch the wires and forbid me from doing so.

The power is separate. I have totally separate PSUs for my V6 and SuperHub 3.

Despite the overwhelming support UKTV had on social media, Virgin appear to have gotten the best out of this dispute. In comparison to the Sky dispute, the channels were off air for a short period of time, and they've gotten the extra on demand content they wanted. Customers have also gotten missing FTA channels that Virgin were forced to add in UKTV's absence.

Supposedly BBC Studios were being difficult with Virgin about the on demand rights to their archive programming - the dispute going so public appears to have forced them to reconsider.

ITV had been in negotiations since last year.

Yes, I thought I'd explained quite clearly and in depth about the Virgin/ITV situation, which had taken a very long time to resolve.

Lets hope this mess is not repeated again

Indeed. It's truly sickening when members making informative posts are ignored.
London Lite and DE88 gave kudos

Not in our house it's not. And my parents refuse to touch it and would only allow Virgin to split them.

I much prefer the UKTV twitter announcement Very Happy

I suspect UKTV always had the edge when using social media.

VM seem to be getting a little confused about what they are offering customers in their announcement.

They are offering Dave HD only in their Mix (or higher) bundle, but another page offers it in HD in the lower Player bundle. They are also offering Eden HD, even though the channel no longer broadcasts AFAIK (or was the removal of the channel only on Sky to allow for Gold HD?)

Eden HD is still on BTTV.
