I wonder whether BBC Studios/Discovery Inc can withstand any advertising revenue loss for UKTV longer than Liberty Global can cope with the loss of subscribers.

It may just come to 'who blinks first', but that may be quite a way down the road.

I'll be interested to see TVPlayer's figures when they're released to see how they've benefited from the whole fiasco.

Some of the alternate channels VM have replaced the slots with have figures under 500 viewers (not thousands, 500) soo.... yeah.

You mean viewers aren't rushing to watch ZooMoo and Horse And Country? Colour me shocked.

Yeah I had some Scottish geezer asking me if I liked Sport as Player customers had a sport channel. Not exactly showing the cream of the EPL is it though? And ZooMoo... who came up with that? A 12 year old fresh out of Media Studies college?

The fact the hold time at Retentions is 45mins would strongly suggest there is a lot of unhappy people.

Is the Irish senior hurling not good enough for you, then? :p

ZooMoo has actually been around a while, on demand. It seems they took the on demand content and quickly cobbled together a channel from it.

To be fair, it does look quite well made, and it is original content, it's just clearly made for people who are at least 25 years younger than I am, so how anyone could think it was a reasonable replacement for Eden (or any of the UKTV channels) is beyond me. They're clearly determined to push it though seeing as it has THREE EPG slots.

Sky Q here I come. Monday morning. I have to send back their dreadful, clunky Tivo box. Bloody hassle.

Sky Q box is actually bigger then the newer Tivo box

When we changed to the V6 box, they didn't even want the old Tivo box back, they just told us to take it to the local tip.

Not for me, they sent me a box to post back the box. Their crap Tivo has always been clunky with two replacements needed since I joined in 2012.

I was with Sky from 2009-2012 in this house, and never once had any problems with their equipment. With Tivo I have had terrible signal quality at times, two boxes replaced, and I still stayed with them, feeling that things would improve. Stupid me.

I actually never had any issues with the original Tivo box, apart from the fact it was slow sometimes, and that increasingly often I was wanting to record more things than the box would allow- which made the V6 box an improvement (it's a lot faster too).

I had my TiVo replaced twice. I've just looked at the Sky Entertainment package - £20 a month, £25 for HD.... that's a steal! You're looking at far more than that with Virgin.
Stuart and London Lite gave kudos

That's bound to only be an introductory price, before they jack it up after the contract period.

Usually the case, Sky’s contracts are for 18 months at the moment. I’ve been with Sky for 4 years and I have paid full price for only one month, their retention’s are good should you cancel. When my last deal expired my Sky bill would have gone up by an extra £30 per month, I called to cancel and I was honest to them and explained I was looking to beat the rise. They offered me 40% off TV for 18 months, which meant I was paying £10 per month less than before.

Going back to Virgin, when I used to live with my parents we had two Virgin boxes, by the time I moved out we had a TiVo, which was the main box and a V HD box. We called to cancel the secondary box and they didn’t want it back, meaning we had a spare V HD box lying around for a couple of years gathering dust.
