“UKTV's were among our least viewed channels”

Which even if it were true, it's no help if you were someone who watched it.

Either viewing habits in the Republic of Ireland are vastly different to the UK, or they're lying.

They've replaced them with CBS channels to "minimise disruption"? Jesus...

Other channels that are never seen in Virgin Media Ireland Households

UTV
ITV 2
Eir Sports 1
Eir Sports 2
All BT Sports Channels

That not including dozens and dozens of stations such as All Channel 5 stations, the rest of the UKTV stations that were never available in the first place, and loads more that are available with a Free to Air Sat box.

But not to worry you have TV3, Be3 and 3e... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Also know, all sporting coverage shown on ITV3 and ITV4 are blocked on the Virgin Media Ireland platform due to "rights", however if you have Freesat or add the channels in on your Sky box they are not blocked.

Just as a clarification for what Virgin has said, it's not actually the BBC per se, but the commercial arm, BBC Worldwide.

I think the On Demand issue is not proving a popular point - because for some of the channels at least the target audience is a linear leaning audience.

BBC Worldwide is now merged into BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC, and of course they want to milk as much money as they can out of any content or channels they have. All to "supplement" the BBC licence fee apparently.

BBC Studios now, Worldwide no longer exists.

No apparently about it, that's exactly what the BBC's commercial arm has always been for

So what is currently being broadcast on the UKTV EPG slots? I can’t check as I have Sky.

I guess the clue is in the name and it is something I certainly took for granted but the one big difference between UKTV and most of the channels Virgin have replaced them with, and indeed many channels in both the free and pay TV landscape, is that UKTV is predominantly overwhelmingly British content, and with the exception of the obvious classic content relatively current too - most of it's repeat content is from series which are still on air, so even if they date back to the early 2000s they don't seem as old as they might do otherwise.
