There is a word I would call them: Buffoons.

Well that'll look good if you're at the negotiating table, I must say.

I wasn't putting myself in the position of those at the negotiating table (should've done). I was just voicing my opinion.

2 minutes past midnight and they’re still there...

As someone on DS said, they should come up with an interim agreement to keep the channels on while they negotiate, so us viewers don't have to suffer.

Exactly.

Spoke too soon. They’re gone now... Paramount and the other channels now in the old UKTV slots.

Don’t believe it’s been mentioned, the 4 UKTV channels on Virgin Media Ireland are also being dropped. I didn’t realise just how many UKTV channels had not been covered in the carriage agreement for Ireland. However it seems both countries are affected. Here they are being replaced by the CBS channels.

Considering that they're two branches of the same company, it makes logical sense for them to have the same carriage contracts for both countries. Hence the UKTV dispute will affect customers of both Virgin UK and Virgin Ireland.

Not many options in Ireland either. It's between the overpriced main Sky service for all of the channels or the overpriced NOW TV Ireland Entertainment pass for GOLD.

Edit: There's also EIR and Vodafone Ireland who have UKTV channels.

There's also the 30% of households with a dish but no Sky Sub. They can still watch UKTV free to Air offerings. (including the versions with Irish Ads)
