I'd imagine you're wrong on both accounts, as Granada has nothing to do with Mr Bean. It's much more likely to be a co-production between Tiger Aspect and another European company.

Multi-national I imagine. An Asian company co-producing it with Granada maybe?

Tiger Aspect is an international company! As for Granada, I think they are involved - don't forget, someone has to check the content for the ITC, remember the recent Channel TV complaints about that Pop Idol trail and Bad Girls - Thames and Shed aren't part of ITV, so someone else had to take responsibility. It's the same for Mr Bean.

What has that got to do with anything? You're completely going off the point.

It was also shown on MTV, which is when it really began to get "mainstream awareness" in the states.

was not Monty Python shown on NBC during primetime, or am I just having a memory general protection error?

Twisting this topic slightly, what about UK hosts abroad.
I know Amanda Byram (Paradise Hotel), Dani Behr (Boy Meets Boy) and Simon Cowell (American Idol / Cupid) all have shows in the US, while it was reported a few months ago that Ant and Dec will front a US version of Saturday Night Takeaway.
I guess the most successful Brit in US TV would be Tracey Ullman.

I doubt that will go down too well. Amanda Byram is Irish BTW.
Was she the one on the Big Breakfast?

Good for her. I really liked her on the BB, and thought it was a shame she didn't get anywhere (or so I thought) How did she get on in the States? Was Paradise Hotel a success?
