Can't the Sky+ crap be removed by the viewer, or does it remain throughout recorded programmes?

I dont like them as much as the fireworks; as the fireworks looked great.
Though these have more thinking behind them; they may be people idents but they are a damm sight better to the previous. These have music for a start. And they all involve seeing gold and watching it.
The only part i hate is the end; they could have come up with a better animation especially instead of the UK GOLD shape hitting the screen; I'd have prefered to see something like Carlton's last look where the gold would create a white flash on the screen and when the white has faded your left with the UK GOLD logo on the background (minus that red thing!).

It's just like the graphics that appear on the screen with video recorders - it comes on while you are doing something and then go off afterwards

I have never soon The Battle.... on UK gold until today - it appears to be live, with a segment presented by Craig Charles. Fairly small, but nonetheless nice studio. Adds a bit of spontaneity to the whole thing, something that is defiantly lacking in this multi-channel pre-recorded world.

It's the second one they've done (the other was Monsterous Bosses: Fawlty versus Brent). It's not live, there's no way they could afford to staff a studio for the whole evening. The would have just recorded 2 endings and then played out the one that was correct (notice that no percentage of the vote was given?). Thought it was all a bit cheesy myself - If they want to show lots of Porridge and Only Fools.... just do it!
The main problem with the weekend was that the EPG didn't display the individual programmes so I couldn't tell what was next, and how long there was left on the current episode.
UK Gold have put out a brief for a lot more of this type of theme weekend. They're after ideas and new ways of presenting them

Well UK Gold have completely lost the plot now, underneath the DOG it now says "5 days to go Eastenders Exits Weekend", talk about obtrusive, the text is almost into the middle of the screen.
I can accept DOGS, but this kind of permanent on screen advertisement is the biggest crime in presentation in my opinion.
