Should they put UK Gold on Freeview

Since E4 has now been on Freeview. Is it about time they did this with UK Gold as well since a couple of other UKTV channels are on the service. It's one of the popular channels

I would love UK Gold to be on Freeview but lets be realistic here, it's not going to happen in the near future.

E4 been on Freeview is an advantage to Channel 4 because of Big Brother Live. I take it that's the main reason it transfered over

Also they are called UKTV Gold and UKTV Drama, not UK Gold and UK Drama.



Unless you hate the UKTV prefix (like me) and call them by UK Gold and UK Drama.

Just a habit of mine calling them Uk Gold as opposed to UKTV Gold, Personally prefer the original name anyway

Other name changes are that my local Lunn Poly is now a Thomson!

Well I must admit that if UKTV Gold moved over to Freeview I'd cancel my TUTV subscription. I think it would benefit just as E4 will.

Steering back on topic quickly What is the main reason for UK Gold not coming to Freeview, is it money or a "Sky" reason?

The reason I ask is on Freeview we get UK History & UK Bright Idea, & I know the second one is a calabiration of several, but UK History isn't.

Very obviously not just a sky reason, but a pay tv reason. You know how rubbish Bright Ideas and average History is?
