UK G2

In the article linked below, UKTV are set to launch a new channel called UK G2 next month.

Interesting. Obviously UK Gold 2 wasn't working so it's a straight swap. I don't hold my breath on anything inspirational in the way of idents though.

I wonder whether this will appear on Freeview? The article doesn't mention it.

Unlikely - it sounds like a subscription channel to me!

True, but a 'stripped down' UK Gold was often rumoured to appear on Freeview and this 'new' channel comes at a time where there is (I think) only one space left on the Freeview multiplexes.

Well the article says "The channel will be available on Sky Digital, NTL and Telewest.
So at my guessing the channel wont be on Freeview!

Just saw an ad on UK Bright Ideas saying that the channel does indeed start on November 12th. It was all blue with a 3d UKG2 logo (at least I think it was, I only caught the very end).

I heard about this a few months back, it was described to me as a more male and comedy orientated version of UK Gold. To me it sounds like a partial resurrection of UK Play.

Was that the one where the woman gets covered in fish? I saw that this morning.
