Then again, was it 4 Creative that often put on a nice show for the higher profile imports? (Lost, Desp Housewives etc.)

Yep - and the US never got them. Excellent they were as well - haven't seen Channel 4 put that much effort into advertising a new US import since then.

So next Friday then. I wonder how well this series will do.

I expect it will do OK. It wasn't a massive hit last season - only doing extremely well when sandwiched in between Big Brother. But still, the figures were good for Channel 4 on a Friday night and it seems to have a loyal audience so I'd say it will average around 2 million?

I'm looking forward to it anyway - not hugely demanding but still a very funny, deliciously OTT show.

Well I watched the first episode today and I have to say , the format is VERY different. Some of the transitions are much more creative, we see more depth to certain characters and there are more shots outside of the studio. The main storyline in the first episode is slightly...gross.

Watched this last night, absolutely loved it! It was everything that was hoping for and it even truly shocked me at one point, the transitions are super cool this season and there's a great walk through the office scene which shows the set must be huge, welcome back Betty!

Yes I liked that office scene, where there were no changes of shot, showing the actual size of the set.

The transitions are brilliant - they're definitely being more creative this season and it really fits in with the style of the show. Loved the first episode - it had everything a season opener should have.

I found my self kinda disappointed Santos got killed off, but the way they did it made it seem like he survived. Very clever

I agree - some said it was obvious but I was so surprised - It was very well done.

i knew that santos would actually be dead, but the way that they did it was excellent.
i thought it was really sad at the end when we went from santos/hilda to just hilda.
but overall, an excellent episode. the amanda subplot was actually quite entertaining, too.
