And well done to ITV - they get alot of unfair stick but their coverage was as superb as ever.
Well it was OK, but they went to the ads too early, Sky kept with the feed, with both Rob Hawthorne and Andy Gray allowing viewers at home to enjoy the moment.

Yeah, while ITV were in the ads, Sky let you soak up the atmosphere a bit, no commentary for a few minutes as the fans sang.

Well that's what you get for subscribing. Considering ITV had the penalties, the celebrations and the presentation plus some on pitch interviews all before going to a break, they couldn't have done any more. If ITV had stayed on air till Midnight, Sky would have stayed till 10 past!

From memory, ITV News at 11 got something like 3.5m viewers, while BBC News at 10 got 2.5m.

The Evening News also beat the BBC 6pm News with 4m viewers - but I was surprised to read that BBC Regional News at 6.30pm got 4.9m viewers.

Sky have gone all out with their coverage this evening - I think they've got three or four camera positions around Liverpool, as well as the Skycopter. Gerard Tubb's at Anfield, Jeremy Thompson in the city centre, and some pundits in London too. And no ad breaks either.

Good job it's a slow news day, eh? Smile

This is unsuprising, considering the ITV News directly followed the football, which attracted 14.9m viewers if i remember correctly.

Those without coverage from BBC News 24 can watch the victory parade live via the BBC i Sport Player here.

You have to say, there's something a little incongruous looking about it..
