Trevor's getting into it on tonight's late ITV News. Maybe he's a secret Liverpool fan, I wondered why he always wears red ties!

I liked the end of the ITV News last night where Trevor said, "Join me at the same time, ten thirty, tomorrow...." LOL Razz

Apparently UEFA didn't allow ITV to host tonight's coverage because of the Goal Line Error in the Liverpool/Chelsea match a few weeks ago. UEFA weren't best pleased apparently.

What utter rubbish. I don't believe that for one second. What difference would it have made if Sky had produced the coverage - it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference to the result.

Perhaps they believe Sky's coverage is better - fair enough, but I think the fact that the goal could not be proved or disproved was not an issue.

Offiicial ratings peaked at 14.6m - higher than the peak of 13m who watched the FA Cup final on Saturday, but lower than the 19m who watched Man Utd win in 1999.

Another point about last night - the first time in a long time there has been absolutely no soaps after 7pm on a weeknight!

And well done to ITV - they get alot of unfair stick but their coverage was as superb as ever.

Just quite ironic that the team ITV1 have barely given coverage to all season is the one that wins it!

Anybody know what ratings the late ITV News got? Trevor McDonald was getting into the spirit and even congratulated Liverpool at the end of the programme. With the football being the lead story with lots of high quality reports, plus everybody missing the BBC 10, I'd expect quite a high viewing figure

Jeremy Thompson is presenting Sky News from Liverpool, and Kelly Dalglish is there for Sky Sports News. Does anybody know what sort of coverage was given to Man Utd's win in 1999?

Well it was OK, but they went to the ads too early, Sky kept with the feed, with both Rob Hawthorne and Andy Gray allowing viewers at home to enjoy the moment.

Although ITV went a considerable duration without ads, longer than any previous Euro Cup final I recall on the channel. Sky may have stayed longer, but then again, you are paying for the privilege via subscription.

Yes that was already pointed out last night.

I think the answer to the original question was Bob Wilson - I believe it was his last game presenting live.

Yeah, while ITV were in the ads, Sky let you soak up the atmosphere a bit, no commentary for a few minutes as the fans sang.

I think its a real shame the parade is running late - ITV and Channel 4 (ITN) could have given us momentous coverage of the victory bus arriving in Anfield for terrestial viewers. But as usual, its left to the news channels to provide us with the coverage Sad
