Noticed on the Tyne Tees website that there is a programme on Tyne Tees tonight at 6pm The Big Move.Following the staff as they move out of City Road studios should be quite good i would have thought.

Well i realy enjoyed the nostalgia thought they would have had more of the former announcers and presenters though. I wonder if Border will be moving home maybe they will be next.

Personally I couldn't see Border moving, they haven't been a Network production base, something that Tyne Tees WAS, but as there are fewer productions from Tyne Tees then ITV decided to start new in a new building with one (maybe two) studios.

Where as Border only has one main studio, that's used for Border News/Lookaround, so I couldn't see it happening.

Maybe ITV could upgrade the facilities (as they have done in many regions within the past year or two) but otherwise I don't think anything drastic will happen.

Couldn't they have managed a regional intro into the programme rather than the national one promoting network programmes with no mention of the actual programme coming next.

I agree they could have got Kathy Secker in to do a special IVC link that would have been so cool.

They could just bulldoze it then we in South Scotland could get STV.

Thought it was quite a good programme though I agree it would have been nice to see some of the old faces, Frosty, Kathy Secker, Bill Steel, i think it set the right tone being about the building rather than the TV station. It was quite poignant to see the archive laid out on the floor of Studio 5. Also funny seeing Pam Royle totally mess up her attempt at digital editing equiptment.

Did they show the gallery in any of this programme? If so, did anyone manage to get pictures from it?

Thank you.

they did, it's weird. Basically the wall of a room with flat plasma screens and computer monitors. Didn't look like much of a Gallery but I suppose that's progress with all this server based gubbins...

Oh, sounds like I did not miss much, then.
