At Launch....
At Launch Tycoon must have got about 3 Million viewers tops for ITV, where as when The Apprentice and Dragon's Den began on BBC Two the ratings were less than 2 Million.
Otherwise after the first episode of Tycoon it did flop.

On Newsbeat (Radio 1) Peter Jones said that Tycoon was the most successful business show at launch, beating the Apprentice and Dragon's Den.... yes that's why it was cut to 30 mins a week then Peter?

I think the first episode of Tycoon peaked at something like 2.2 million and had an average of 1.9ish. But expectations are much higher on ITV, of course.

It was them two shows that enabled Tycoon to have a successful launch in the first place.

Tycoon's launch wasn't exactly "successful". It wasn't even approximately "successful".

Iain was the winner, im glad he won as he seemed like a nice guy. Mind you all 4 of the finalists deserved to win as they all put in such hard work.
Quite a low key and boring final really - I suppose as the show flopped they didnt put much effort in. What a shame.
