Even if they just dumped it out at 4am with the shortened version at 10pm it would be better than what they have now. They have the rights to the programme, so what on earth was wrong with putting it out somewhere as originally intended.

The live final seems a waste of time under the circumstances -- but then this was the bit I wasn't looking forward to in the first place.

Yes it's a weak show, and yes it's nowhere near as good as the programmes it stole ideas from, but ITV's treatment of it shows contempt for the viewers. Why am I not surprised?

This probably shows why ITV was reluctant to give Britain's Got Talent a weekly slot. If you only show it during one week and it bombs, the damage is done quickly. Unfortunately they picked the wrong one..

End of the day ITV is a purely commercial broadcaster, and if something doesn't work then it is answerable to its shareholders. It's commercial reality, and yet another reason why the BBC is more vital then ever.

Although when Castaway was "dropped" the amount it was on per week increased on BBC1, from 1x60mins to 3x30 mins!

They should have axed Tycoon from ITV1 after the 1st show of poor ratings, and moved it to ITV4 in the 9pm slot. Leaving it to an hourly show. ITV1 would benefit, not sure on ITV4, don't think it has good ratings - does it?

Embarrassing stuff. Kate Thornton doesn't seem to have noticed that her microphone isn't working. Confused

EDIT: ...Finally, we have sound.

The fireworks were a bit rushed weren't they? I only saw 2 or 3 go off before the credits came on! Laughing
