Noticed that next week's show is The Final! Tonight's show was meant to be Part 4 out of 6. Which means that this show has been edited beyond all comparison - they've edited each show down from 1 hour to around 23 minutes including adverts and droped the series from 6 programmes to 5.

Which means half of this series will have never aired! Not suprising really if only 2 million viewers tune into the first 2 shows at 9.00pm on Tuesday nights!

Can't imagine next week's final result will mean much considering hardly anyone will be voting! What do you think?

They're making a big enough thing of the live final with fireworks and big party at LWT on the South Bank...

And Kate Thornton is hosting The Final apparently at 10pm! She ought to get better offers than presenting gigs like this that noone is watching!

I had a rant last week about the treatment of Tycoon. A shame they have edited so much out of it.Why they couldnt just show the full series in an 11pm slot I dont know. That way at least people who are fans of it can watch it all, not just the edited highlights.

Anyway, id like Iain to win.

ITV do this because they don't give a sh*te about their audience. Instead of just letting a programme run they will drop it or butcher it regardless of the people who are actually watching it!

Surely the way forward here was to air the already edited one hour episodes on ITV2 at 9pm in the usual slot.

2 million viewers is still quite a large fanbase for a programme and imagine if only 50% of them tuned into ITV2 to carry on watching it?!

They still could have run the 30 minute edited versions at 10pm on Mondays on ITV1.
I feel this has been a missed oppourtunity - and something that could have added value to ITV2's schedule.

Wasn't it ITV4? In which case your comments hold true even more -- ITV4's audience being much lower than ITV2's.

My TiVo "forgot" to record the show last night (I think it clashed with something else), is it still being repeated? Must have a look.

It is repeated Wednesday 9:30pm on ITV4. The original hour long episodes could easily have fitted in the Wednesday 9-10pm slot on ITV4 as before it is an episode of Police, Camera, Action

I agree totally - they could have shown it at 9pm on ITV2 or even 11pm on ITV1 would have been better than just an edited 30 minute slot (not even that when you consider the ad break and it was late starting as well)

The repeat on ITV4 is the same half hour episode shown on ITV1.

I notice there is no fuss being made in the tv guides for next week about the live final.

maybe the contract with Peter Jones stated that it be shown on ITV1? He's actually been quite lucky that they've kept in the schedules in a decent slot. Other shows have been dumped altogether or played out at 11pm.

11pm for an hour would have been better than 10pm for half an hour.

IMO if ITV commit to showing a programme they should show it all - its only 6 weeks afterall.
