Glad you pointed that out, because else I'd never have known.

BBC Worldwide pulls the wool over our eyes yet again.

Only Reason why I know there is an 85xmas is because it has the Alice in wonderland sketch

Have to admit I don't remember seeing the Alice In Wonderland sketch on the DVDs.

Lots of technicalities in The Two Ronnies' run, as shown quite well on IMDb:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066721/episodes

(I agree with IMDb that the 1981 show was a separate Christmas special, despite it appearing during a season. Is that on the compilation DVD ?)

The DVDs feature the following:

Christmas Night With The Stars 1972
Christmas Special 1973 (Old Fashioned Christmas Mystery)
Christmas Special 1982
Christmas Special 1984
Christmas Special 1987

"Christmas Night With The Stars" is a very odd presentation since, despite the title it's actually a 35-minute compilation of the bits featuring the Ronnies (the only breaks coming from Lulu, Cilla Black and the Nigel Lythgoe dancers). Yet it has the full title sequence and end credits as broadcast, listing a variety of other stars whom we simply don't see! The end credits list everyone's panto appearances that year.

On a further note of pendantry, the 1981 Grange Hill Christmas Special, unseen since its one and only TX was not included on the recent DVD release of that year's series, although this might be because it was actually shot as part of the 1982 series (when the show moved to Fulham).

Hang on, there is no need to be Scrooge-like just because 1985's Christmas show isn't included! It will be released in due course, due to it being a part of the final series. I know it's a long wait, but be fair. I've been watching the show on ITV3, and still have no idea how The Worm That Turned ended, as they haven't shown the final episode of Series 8 due to it co-inciding with Christmas week (well, that's their excuse). Didn't stop them showing the Christmas week show from 1981 last week... without advertising it! This now means I know the full story of Piggy and Charley in Band of Slaves... just not in the right order!
Cheer up, we're getting at least three series on DVD next year, starting March 17th!
