Two new idents for BBC ONE

Both are excellent additions. Goes to show how versatile the idea is. Also goes to prove the best idents are abstract.

Thinking about it, I didn't expect the Beeb's site to be added to with these new ones. The pages are set up as such that they seem likely to be linked to later today or tomorrow.

They never used to do this sort of online ident set updating. They had almost all of the dancers online, but a vast majority were 'hidden' (for direct URL access only, most of the good ones at that), and in the later years the likes of Tumbler didn't even get featured.

If only they could have done this at the turn of the '00s and at least had the Dome Balloon, Excalibur 2 etc. There's the BBC 2 Cult section for bits of pres (did BBC 1 not get one?) but that's almost exclusively stings, and is perhaps misleading as the picture shown in the section is Powder, even though, being an ident, it's not featured. Anyway, I digress...

Could somebody capture the videos off the website and post them on YouTube?

Why do you want them on YouTube?

I can capture them off youtube and save them on my hard drive. I cannot do this from the BBC website.

If somebody just wants to just make a link to an uploaded version that I can save to my hard drive that would be even better.

Hmm. Space looks cool, but is muscially terrible. Is that shadow a very very subtle reference to the balloon towards the end? Fantasy is great visually, but the music doesn't have the theme as obvious as the others. I would think a more celtic-ish sounding track would fit better.

I very much doubt it.

Thats exactly what someone else said on Digital Spy, But I doupt it, its the ship the rover was launched from

20secs before the logo is shown - that's got to be a BBC1 record.

It's funny how we often say "wait to see them onscreen as they'll probably look better" but from the clips you can see they both look great. I thought I'd like Mission Control more than Magical Forest but so far, it's the other way around. I think the soundtrack and visuals are really good to that one - love the way the fairy flies off when the logo appears.

Mission Control is certainly epic and I think it's nice that they know they can do quiet idents (eg along with Moon) too. I'll be interested to see how the short version plays out

Hope pres give them both long outings for their first appearance tonight.

Erm, I'm not a balloon nerd, but what i meant was that it does look like the shadow. I dunno why everybody liked the balloon so much. It's gone everybody. Deal with it.

Anybody think that one of them may be used before the news now? I'm fed up of Kites at every news junction!
