You've seen them!! Somebody did say the new ones would put a rocket up people, if it's mission control I can see why.
What did you think of the music? The problem with the new music is that the identifiable hook comes in the last few seconds. With the dancers you'd hear the tune in the opening few seconds, so you could be in another room and know the TV was on BBC1. One of the few things they did right with the dancer idents.

Out of the two new idents I think Mission Control is the most 'normal'... Magic Forest is complete fantasy (enchanting or creepy... I've not quite decided). Mission Control is my favourite, and has a very 'big budget' look to it.

I like forest. It's enchanting rather than creepy because of the shafts of sunlight and birds which brighten it up.
M/Control is excellent, but how often will they show all of it?
EDIT: It just goes to show what BUSY BEE* can do with the right brief, rather than what ITV ask them to do.
*(assuming they did them)

And I thought 40+ sec idents were dead on BBC One!
Although admittedly that is partly down to the extended 'launch' intro. These intros, they just keep getting longer.
Additional: I prefer Mission Control to Magic Forest though, because it feels more epic and builds a good atmosphere.
Also, it's refreshing how, after the logo form-up and well into the ident's latter seconds, it's relative calm and silence on the soundtrack, save for the occasional robotic bleeps for the theme tune. Been a long time since an announcer will be backed by such quietude for their continuity!

A group of British scientists launch a pod to land on a distant planet. Out of the pod emerges a curious rover, however, one of the rover's wheels is damaged during the rough landing and subsequently the rover can only go round in circles.
I do like it though.

The mistake is the hook is at the end as much as I hated the dancers I could recognise the tune withing the first few seconds. With these new idents by the time they form it's not on too long before the programme starts. Channel 4 have got it right with their idents, most times the announcer gets all the words in as the logo forms.

Im sad to hear that the bbc one signiture tune isnt very obvious in the new musical scores. Maybe it will be in the 'short versions'. Just look at how different Hippos full/short versions are!

Space does look like a
very
odd ident. I do like it though, but nowhere near as much as Forest, which I think is clever, and has a lovely soundtrack to go with it. The main problem with Space is its soundtrack. It took me some time to work out that those beepy things at the end were actually the jingle...
